“I look for moments that show what the surfer feels,” says Javi. “A turn, a wipeout, a smile — those small, honest reactions.”

“There were a few barrels where the light was perfect,” adds Jose. “Being able to repeat the same wave helped us capture shots that would be nearly impossible in the ocean.”
