This summer, Alaïa Bay is trading the Alps for the Pacific coast. Well, almost.
From July 10 to 12, we’re turning the Bay into a little corner of Costa Rica, in partnership with Essential Costa Rica and Edelweiss, and you are invited!
A weekend built around Pura Vida
Pura Vida isn’t just a saying in Costa Rica, it’s a way of moving through the day: slow mornings, good food, music that pulls people together, and a kind of ease that’s hard to find anywhere else. For one weekend, we’re bringing that energy to Swiss Alps.
Expect a full sensory trip: surf sessions designed to make you feel like you’ve landed somewhere tropical, real Costa Rican food cooked the way it’s meant to be, a party with Latin vibes to close things out right, and plenty of moments worth showing up for.
A Shared Love For Waves
Costa Rica and Alaïa Bay share more than a love of waves. Both are built on the idea that surfing is a doorway into something bigger: culture, food, connection, community. That’s exactly why we’ve teamed up with Essential Costa Rica, the country’s official tourism brand, and Edelweiss, who fly direct from Zurich to San José, to bring a genuine taste of Costa Rica here and celebrate everything that makes it such a special place for surfers and travellers alike.
Three Days Of Pura Vida
On Friday the 10th, lunch kicks things off with Costa Rican cuisine at Twin Fin. From 4pm, it’s Pura Vida After Work & Signature Cocktails straight from the Pura Vida land, with a DJ set running until 10pm.
Saturday the 11th follows the same rhythm: Costa Rican cuisine at Twin Fin at noon, then Pura Vida Side Club & Cocktails from 4pm with another DJ set until 10pm.
Sunday the 12th eases into the morning with yoga and surf at 9am, followed by a Costa Rican brunch at Twin Fin at 11am followed by some Pura Vida tunes playlist to keep the vibe chill.
And all weekend long, swing by the jungle arch selfie spot for your photo moment, enjoy some goodies throughout the weekend and bring your kids along for a fun and creative moment: they’ll have the chance to enjoy painting surfboards in a colorful and playful atmosphere. Finally, you’ll have the chance to win a trip to Costa Rica courtesy of Edelweiss.
Taste The Real Costa Rican Cuisine
Our chefs at our restaurant Twin Fin have been working through some of Costa Rica’s most-loved dishes.
Start your day the way Costa Ricans do, with gallo pinto: rice and black beans sautéed with onion, pepper, and coriander, finished with a touch of Lizano sauce. Simple, warm, and exactly what you want before a session.
For something fresh, the Twin Fin team’s ceviche puts a Costa Rican spin on mahi-mahi, marinated in lime with coriander, red onion, chilli, cucumber, and a hint of mango or pineapple for sweetness. Served with crispy plantain chips for a nice little crunch.
If you’re after something to share, the patacones and guacamole are an easy favourite: crushed and fried green plantain rounds, golden and crisp outside, soft inside, paired with a fresh lime guacamole.
And for a full plate, the casado poulet brings grilled chicken, rice, black beans, plantain, and a fresh salad together in one generous, colourful dish. It’s the kind of meal that disappears fast.
Win a round-trip for 2 people, to Costa Rica
Here’s the best part: just by joining us this weekend, you’re in the running to win a round-trip for two people, to Costa Rica, courtesy of Edelweiss.
Because once you’ve tasted Pura Vida at Alaïa Bay, the only thing left to do is see the real thing for yourself.
