Even the best surfers in the world see the advantage. \u201cMany professional surfers have been training in pools in recent years, surfers like <\/strong><\/em><\/span>Italo Ferreira and Gabriel Medina<\/strong><\/em>, for example,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> says Patrick. \u201cI believe that technical evolution will be much faster than in the ocean; paddling and the takeoff (pop-up) will be faster and more efficient for ocean surfing,\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Patrick explains.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no forecast. The pool is always the same, and that\u2019s very important because it is the same for everyone. It\u2019s easier to put on a show with top surfers,\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>says Patrick.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And that predictability? It\u2019s changing how competitions and surf showcases are structured, allowing for <\/span>head-to-head battles on identical<\/b> waves<\/b>, where skills only determine the outcome rather than wave selection.<\/span><\/p>\n
